Loading Paper and Envelopes for HP ENVY 4500 and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3540 e-All-in-One Printer Series

This document describes how to load plain paper, photo paper, and envelopes into the printer.

Open the paper tray door, and then pull it toward you to extend the paper tray.
Gently pull out the paper tray extender, and then lift up the paper catch.

Slide the paper width guides to their outermost position.

Load a stack of plain, white paper into the paper tray with the short edge forward, and then push the stack into the tray until it stops.

Slide in the paper width guides until they rest against the edges of the paper.

Push the paper tray forward until it clicks into place.

Load a stack of U.S. legal size paper into the paper tray with the short edge forward and the print side down. Push the stack into the tray until it stops.

Push the paper tray forward until it clicks into place.

Remove any paper from the paper tray.
Load a stack of photo paper into the middle of the paper tray, with the short edge forward and the print side down. Slide the stack into the tray until it rests against the paper stoppers at the end of the tray.

Load one or more envelopes into the middle of the paper tray, print side down, and with the flaps on the left and facing up.
